About this explorer

The Rails Aave V3 explorer shows every account on Ethereum, whether still open or closed, across the Core, Prime and EtherFi markets, and the full history of each one. It also shows the reserves of the Core market, with their rates, risk settings and prices.

How it works

  • Aave V3 is a lending protocol where people lend crypto, which Aave calls supplying it, and borrow other crypto against it. An account is the assets one wallet (an address that holds crypto) has supplied and the debt it owes in one market.
  • Ethereum has three separate markets: Core, Prime and EtherFi. Each is its own pool with its own reserves (one asset each), risk settings and prices.
  • A wallet's account in each market is separate, so a wallet that uses two markets has two accounts.
  • All the assets in an account that count as collateral back all of its debt together. One health factor scores how safe the whole account is.
  • Dollar values use the prices from the market's price oracle, a contract that reports asset prices. Liquidation is checked with the same prices, so a price fall can trigger it.

Glossary

Market
: A market is one Aave V3 lending pool with its own reserves, risk settings and prices. A wallet's account in each market is separate, so one wallet can have an account in several. Docs: Liquidity pool
Reserve
: A reserve is one asset inside a market. It has its own interest rates and its own supply and borrow caps, which are the most that can be supplied or borrowed. Its risk settings include the liquidation threshold, which caps the share of the asset's value that can be borrowed against before the account is unsafe. The same token can have different settings in different markets. Docs: Reserves
Supplied
: Supplied assets are the assets a wallet has deposited to earn interest. In return, Aave gives the wallet an interest-bearing token (an aToken) whose balance grows with interest and can be exchanged back for the supplied asset. Docs: Supply
Collateral
: Collateral is the supplied assets that a wallet has chosen to count toward its borrowing. Only those assets count toward its health factor, and the wallet can borrow only against them. Docs: Collateral status
Debt
: Debt is what a wallet has borrowed plus the interest on it. The wallet must keep its collateral worth more than its debt. Docs: Borrow
Health factor
: The health factor is a score for the safety of one account in one market. It is the value of the collateral, weighted by each asset's liquidation threshold, divided by the debt. Below 1 the account can be liquidated. Docs: Health factor
Liquidation
: Liquidation happens when an account's health factor falls below 1. Anyone may then repay part of its debt and take collateral worth that amount. This outside party, the liquidator, also receives a bonus. Docs: Liquidation process, Liquidation penalty

Listing

  • Each card shows one account: the wallet, its market, what it supplied, what it owes and its health factor.
  • The listing shows open accounts by default. Searching for a wallet shows its accounts of every status.

Position page

  • The top card shows what the wallet supplied, what it owes and its health factor, read now from the market's pool contract, the smart contract that holds its supplied assets.
  • The timeline lists the account's events, newest first.

Market view

The market view shows each Core reserve with its size, rates, risk settings and price. Use the Core market link to open it.

You can search by wallet address. The listing filters by Status (open, closed or liquidated), Market, Debt and Collateral by size in US dollars, History (liquidated before) and Transactions, and sorts by recent activity, debt or collateral.

Tap the (i) beside any figure to see where it comes from. Inside, the ? explains that kind of event in general.
